Last year was our first spring in our new house which meant starting from scratch. We previously were in an apartment with a small potted garden. So that meant building raised beds, getting dirt and then going back to get dirt because we did’t get enough. We planted seeds, bought established plants, watered, harvested, ate, canned and jammed. Over all, I would call it a very successful year. I did loose my spring peas to bunnies, my squash to squash bugs and my onions to the trolls. But this year was great. The boy had strawberries from spring to fall, raspberries and blackberries and so much fun playing in the dirt helping me. We spent so much time outside as a family and loved every minute of it.
